No.

The only gigabit card for a Catalyst 5000/5500 that will take a 5483 that I 
have found is the nine-port Gigabit EtherChannel card, WS-X5410.  I have a 
5505 with a 5410 and two 5483's loaded that is working fine:

I tried a 5483 in both a sup IIIG's GBIC slots and in a 5403, and it didn't 
work there.
