This statement doesn't seem too great to me (though I would want to set
a few boxes up and work out how it works to be sure):

"REP does not use an end-to-end polling mechanism between edge ports to
verify link integrity. It implements local link failure detection."

I have, perhaps, a like for the EAPS-style 'send a frame round the ring,
if I don't get it back, open my blocked port and flush fdb'.

MRPv2-alike multiple interconnected rings.

Stated restoral time (200ms) isn't so great.

Obviously, I've not spun this up yet, but it's something to be tested
for sure.
