[c-nsp] 2950 Spanning-tree question

I want to implement a spanning-tree configuration on my network to have
redundant path in case of hardware failure.

Currently my setup is like this:

FIBER ---- TRAFFIC-SHAPER-BRIDGE ---- CACHE-SERVER-BRIDGE ---- 2811 ROUTER
---- 2950 SWITCH ---- LAN

As you can see if my traffic-shaper or cache-server goes down, the whole
network goes down.
I would like to configure a direct path from the fiber to the router in case
of one of the server dies.

In my lab i tried connecting all of the equipment on the switch using
different vlan but I've failed miserably.

Can someone guide me?
