[c-nsp] Question about "L2VPN Switching" feature

I'd like to use this feature to extend an EoMPLS pseudowire across AS 
boundaries.

It mentions use of "l2 vfi" on the inter-AS boundary, this would tend to 
indicate use of VPLS,

Does this technique apply to EoMPLS (i.e non-vpls) circuits or does the 
document imply you need to configure a subset of VPLS on the inter-as 
boundary to make this work?
