Basically the hardware is the same and until SRxy releases of IOS, pretty
much the features were the same BUT (a big one) a SRxy IOS will check if the
chassis is a 7600 and would not boot on a 6500. Be aware ...

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who replied, you have 
assisted me to a great degree.  I've been torn between the 6500 and 7600 
platforms, and your advice has made that decision much easier.
