Hi Guys,
I used a 4HWIC as my other physical link for config. IP address cannot be
configured directly on the eth0 slots so I used
the layer 2 config and used the VLAN. config goes
!
interface FastEthernet0/3/0
description *** BGP L2 config - Via VLAN 1 ***
interface Vlan1
description *** BGP L2 config - Via FastEthernet0/3/0 ***
ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.189 255.255.255.252
now it worked fine for a good 12 hours plus, then suddenly it went dead. I
cannot ping my neighbor *.190 then tested a laptop and set IP *.189 but I
can ping the neighbor from my laptop.
tested with cross cable going to the eth0 port set my laptop as *.190 ping
the eth0 and vice versa. no luck timed out.
tested with other ports. still no luck. Could it be that the 4HWIC is
damaged?? THanks !!
regards,
Chris
