I believe auth proxy can authenticate on specific and a limited number
of protocols (telnet, http, ssh).Authentication forced by captive portal
applies to any type traffic going through which is mostly the case for a
typical wireless users network .Can anyone confirm?
Thanks

Hello,
perhaps you are looking for this:
Consent Feature for Cisco IOS Routers 12.4(15)T
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_4t/12_4t15/auth_fw.html
However you can also use the embedded captive portal when you use Cisco
WLC controllers or you can also try Chillispot

that remember anything about this; I believe that it was an unsupported
feature.
