[c-nsp] BGP policy accounting mib can only collect from real interfaces?

Question,

in 7200/12.2(33)SRC2, configuring BGP policy accounting on a subinterface (and not any real interfaces) collects staticstics happily (show cef int <X> policy) but when attempting to walk the policy accounting mib it fails miserably with "No Such Object available on this agent at this OID"

If you configure policy accounting on a real interface (say, the main trunk interface) the mib tree magically becomes available , but is instead filled with nothing, which would lead me to believe the mib can only collect from real interfaces, is this the case? is it a known restriction?

A bit of googling suggests CSCds01865 could be to blame for this?
