RD is just hack to allow two or more e.g. 10.0.0.0/8 routes exist in BGP. How
to make these different routes? Prefix some junk in front of them, done.
RD does not decide which vrf gets which route.
There might just as well be some 'auto RD <router-id>' chassis wide option
which ensures unique RD in each VRF, and you never manually configure
RD anywhere.

RT otoh, is normal extended bgp community, which decides which VRF gets which
route.
