take a look at "BGP Event-Based VPN Import" feature doc

The most important change is that there is no periodic import scanner
any longer, so vrf import is much faster. finally :-)

Yes.. "maximum-paths ibgp 1 import 2" would also be equivalent.

a global setting for all vrfs would be nice, indeed. unfortunately not
there (yet?).
