[c-nsp] Loop via SNMP? "Looping up far end smartjack"

Hello, This is my first post so I'm unable to reply to the thread.

I'm able to loop from the command line on a 7204vxr, but am wondering if 
the same can be done using SNMP?

I found RFC1406-MIB 
<http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseMIB.do?local=en&step=2&mibName=RFC1406-MIB> 
and have tried writing values to dsx1SendCode and dsx1LoopbackConfig.  
It responds with the changes, but the next GET and CLI show no change.

Anyone ventured down this road?
