Hi, i am using the cisco 6509 sup engines in redundant mode. The main sup engine is booting properly, but the standby sup engine is not booting and going to ROMMON mode. After booting manually, the boot variable is missing. I have configured the boot variable with the command:
set boot system flash bootflash:bootflash:cat6000-sup2cvk9.8-1-3.bin
When i am switching OFF the whole system and switching ON, this variable is once again missing and it is going to ROMMON mode.
I want to know, how to save the boot variable parameters.
Have a look at the boot configuration of two sup engines.
(Console)> sh boot 1
BOOT variable = bootflash:cat6000-sup2cvk9.8-1-3.bin,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable = bootflash:switch.cfg
Configuration register is 0x2102
ignore-config: disabled
auto-config: non-recurring, overwrite, sync enabled
console baud: 9600
boot: image specified by the boot system commands
(Console)>
(Console)>
(Console)> sh boot 2
BOOT variable = bootflash:,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable = bootflash:switch.cfg
Configuration register is 0x10f
ignore-config: disabled
auto-config: non-recurring, overwrite, sync enabled
console baud: 9600
boot: image specified by the boot system commands
(Console)>
(Console)>
2. What are the configuration register values to work in MAIN and STANDBY MODE.
Thanks in advance.
Ambedkar.
