So one thing that does confuse me is this mention of "deep buffers",
some 20-30mb per port, as listed in the data sheet (only 20 on the
uplinks, 30 on the down). Those don't exist in the regular sup32, not
that I've seen. Anyone know anything about where these buffers came from
and if they work? If real, those might be really nifty for my
applications (enough to rue having just purchased two 6504s).

I'm assuming it's classic-bus like the sup32, and that there is simply
one port-asic per 3 ports for the 24 downlinks so there's a hard
choke/throttle, since it says the 8 uplinks are guaranteed full
bandwidth.
