You are right about the rebuild & SPAN support but 15.1(2)EY1a does
contain new features e.g. Unicast IPv6

No.  151-2.EY1a is a rebuild of 151-2.EY1 - it has no new features.

SPAN is not yet supported on the ME3{6,8}00.
