What sort of spanning tree involved?  MST or (R-)PVST?

I haven't seen this, but if you run MST there might be something about
MST instances being re-negotiated or such (as the list of VLANs is 
not identical on all devices, for a short moment at least).

If you're not running MST, I have no idea what could be causing this.
