That was kind of the point of the H-VPLS protocol that's listed on the
product page as being supported. You don't have to mesh the LSP's and you
don't have to flood the traffic down each path.

Powered by the Cisco Carrier Ethernet ASIC
Powered by the Cisco Carrier Ethernet ASIC - designed specifically with
service providers in mind, the Cisco ME 3600X series delivers essential
Carrier Ethernet technologies including: H-QoS, MPLS, H-VPLS. This custom
and advanced ASIC design provides un-interrupted line rate performance while
delivering complex and taxing services such as ACL and H-QoS. The Carrier
Ethernet ASIC integrates Cisco traffic management innovation to deliver
intelligent packet switching and routing operations.

I see. So this is cisco's way of helping me to design my network by selling
me "metro-e" switches that don't support metro-e protocols that they deem
inappropriate. That actually makes alot more sense when you put it that
way. I suppose they also wouldn't allow me to use an ASR at my edge either.
For my own good of course.

Ok... I guess I'll return all those routers from other vendors that already
support V6. Good to know.

Having dealt with every other metro-e box on the planet, could you
elaborate?
