the p2mp rsvp-te is a rather new feature, but it's actively used in
video contribution networks (where you need to deal with multi-gbps
streams of uncompressed video) as well as video distribution/IP-TV where
you want to use the FRR capabilities of RSVP-TE. Both is indeed
happening in the global table. 
There are also vendors using it for ng-MVPN, I think we're more
focussing on MLDP to do this (see also
