You have to go for max ram if you use the redundant processes.
It really takes a minimum of 8GB and 16GB recommended.

Which, if you ask me, is not really worth it. 

When we turned it on, it ate up all the RAM like a problem and crashed the router a few weeks after.

We now don't use IOS redundancy anymore.
