OTN will give you ~6dB "headroom" due to the FEC. Of course, by the time
you've paid your vendor a hojillion dollars for the license, you might
wish you'd just use ZR optics or an amplifier...
WAN PHY is only useful if you need to run over SDH, so not useful over
dark fibre, as far as I can see.
