Ok. Thanks, Hammer. Yesterday, we upgraded the 7609-s IOS, after reload one es+t line card cannot up. Then the customer need us to provide EFA.
Thanks for your information.

Thanks and regards,

The decision is made (usually originating from within Cisco) that something is odd with this particular widget and they want to examine it in more detail. It's not a common thing at all. You can request an EFA but if TAC (or your account team) or whoever doesn't agree I'm not sure what the process would be. The few EFAs I've seen have been at the request of Cisco based on a piece of hardware meeting a certain criteria.

This needs to be arranged IN ADVANCE of your RMA. Otherwise it goes to regular Cisco. Once your EFA part is picked up. It goes to a secret and magical place where Wizards and Alchemists who only speak in assembler will ride in on Unicorns and magic carpets to receive your part. They will conjure up spells of enlightenment and cast out the demons that possessed your part. Then, you will get an official writeup from the Magistrate explaining what the issue was.
