There are 3 options to configure EoMPLS on 6500/7600:
- Port mode: xconnect is configured directly on the port
- Sub-interface mode: xconnect is configured on a subinterface
(gig0/0.100), using dot1q VLAN to match traffic
- SVI (interface vlan): xconnect is configured on SVI

The first 2 options do not require special HW, and do not perform MAC
learning (they do consume an internal VLAN, and the VLAN used for the
sub-interface is globally used on the device)
The SVI option requires a WAN card (SIP/ES) on the core facing side, and
it would perform local MAC learning, as the SVI can be attached to
multiple local interfaces.
