Not using a /64 for the LAN.

If your network is not big enough for your number of subnets, get a bigger
one from your provider.

(I'm somewhat curious, admittedly, to see the first network where a /48 will
not have enough /64s to number all subnets)

I can't speak for other regions, but in RIPE land, the policies very 
clearly allow giving large-enough addresses to a customer/enterprise/
network (whatever you are) to make sure that end-users will NEVER have
to use non-/64 networks or N:1 NAT.  (Some still think that's a good
reason, but don't blaim it on address policy).
