Hi,

if you have the same subnet on both sides of your router then you don't need a router. You need a switch =:-)

Your new ISP's router is doing the "default gateway" job for you.

If you need a router (maybe for connecting other networks) then I would tend to ask your new ISP for a /30 tranfer network as some of the others stated.
