Thanks, that makes sense! 

Ideally what I want is to be able to use VSS and run BGP with with full routes,
but centrally forward (so cap out at 60 Mpps ipv4 / 30 Mpps ipv6 chasis wide),
as I don't need the performance gains that comes with DFC and trying to avoid
the cost of having DFC4-XL linecards.

This doesn't seem possible as there are no 10g line cards with a CFC that can
also be used for VSL (only option seems to be the WS-X6704-10GE, but can't be
used in vsl link for some reason).
