Hi Jason,

The ME3600 supports SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN apparently. The destination interface
can be physical only indeed.

ME3600X(config)#monitor session 1 type ?
  erspan-destination Encapsulated RSPAN Destination Session
  erspan-source Encapsulated RSPAN Source Session
  local Local SPAN Session
local-tx Local SPAN Session TX only
  rspan-destination RSPAN Destination Session
  rspan-source RSPAN Source Session

ME3600X(config-mon-local)#destination interface ?
  GigabitEthernet GigabitEthernet IEEE 802.3z
  Port-channel Ethernet Channel of interfaces
  TenGigabitEthernet Ten Gigabit Ethernet

Best regards,
Andras
