There is a difference between an ESI and an xconnect.  In the case of an
ESI, the switch will learn all the mac addresses passing over the link.
This doesn't happen for an xconnect.

If you're dealing with a small number of mac addresses, this probably isn't
a problem.  If you're dealing with a lot, then it may be...
