(There's just no way to get "everything perfect" - if you have a chassis
full of 48port-copper-modules, the amount of cabling is insane enough that
you can't have them all on the right side... so we go for "half left, half
right, ensure there is not too much slack and no cable ever crosses
another module, etc")
