We've been in this config for a few months now. When we set up VSS
there was little documentation for it - I ended up "piecing it together"
based on other VSS guides for other platforms. Similar, but not identical.

The IOS differences were non-issues. The 10-gig capability of the 4500s
allows us to use them differently that the 3750s, so we didn't move
configurations one for one from one switch to the other, but the feel
and work of doing the config was no different at all.

The 1000v, that was a little different. The VDS does not behave like
other chassis-based switches. It was annoying.
