I was afraid you'd shut/no-shut the port and erase the troubleshooting 
data.  I've seen this on links between N7K and Cat4948-10GE where the 
C49 somehow flunked DTP and went into access mode even though 'swit mode 
tru' was configured.  Oddly the N7K was still in trunk mode.

I suspect a 'sh int status' might have shown this port in VLAN 1, and/or 
'sh int tru' might not have shown this port trunking.
