I would recommend you use both ports on your supervisor for your VSS link.

There was an issue on the SUP 720-10G (supposedly corrected now) that both
of the 10G ports would be configured with the same buffer settings, even if
only one was for the VSS link. You really want to get your VSS setup
completed before you take the box live - if you make a mistake, you may
need to re-install...
