completely from the 'for what its worth' department -- i've successfully seen a link-up on asr1002 (non-x) and asr1006/rp1 with 'glc' part numbered pluggables up through about xe3.3 at 100/1000 (-t) and 1000 (-sx-mm). this was done on cisco-branded optics without 'service unsupported-transceiver'.
