[c-nsp] Caution ME3600CX breaks TCP forwarded/local !!!

"ip tcp mss" not working on your backbone makes sense as 
this is inferred from the point of view of the switch being 
a host, not a router (you know, like BGP sessions, FTP 
connections to/from the switch, e.t.c.).

MTU changes would help.
