SNMP polling. We monitor OSPF interfaces for neighbours, and BGP peers 
for "up" state.

IME, triggering off log messages and SNMP notification is a minefield; 
you can't be 100% sure you received a "push" notification during a 
routing flap. It's safer to "pull" monitor.
