Current LIB on multiple ME3600s are having too many unassigned for the prefixes with “no route”

By default, when the routes are removed from the routing table, MPLS table will also clean up the same routes after 5 minutes. However, in this case ME3600 devices still keeps old routes in the MPLS table (LIB) with huge volumes.

Currently ME3600X platform can only assign local label up to 22000 prefixes. The future prefix learnt in routing table will not be assigned with local label in MPLS table due to the existing huge volumes of “no route” entries.

So, as you can see, deleting routes (no ip route foo), doesnt release it from LIB, so legit prefixes are left "unasgnd" - So, a filter is required to be applied(That only permits certain prefixes...i.e. Loops for PE's), and then a reload is needed.

This works, but Cisco are stating that it is still a work-around, and they are unsure if other platforms may be impacted....they are recommending we wait for new IOS release that addresses the bug.

Our current stance is pushing for an ES image, as it is having dramatic impacts on our business....i.e. we cannot deploy any services (confidently!) on the ME's, until this is fixed.

Cheers.
