An interesting (brand-) new platform is the Cisco NCS 5000 series. You get
a fixed box, for example the NCS 5002, which is 2RU, has 80x 1G/10G and
4x 100G ports. Runs IOS-XR and appears to be quite competitive.
The datasheet [1] doesn't mention mac limits (or route limits), but its is
certainly not the box you would use as mpls edge (carrying the full table).
Not sure about the FCS date either.
