I read through your posting and I'm not sure yours is the exact same issue, though it does look similar. It wasn't clear from your post whether your protocol adjacencies all died, but in our case, this is what happens. It's like the ISIS process just...stops. With regard to your specific case, did you ever get a bug ID or anything, or did I happen to miss that in the posting (sorry if I did).

As for not putting them in critical areas, I certainly understand your concerns and don't blame you, given what you've experienced. However, we have the 920s throughout our network now and haven't had any issues until now. In general, we're pretty satisfied with them, but YMMV (of course).
