You can use third part memory since that memory isn't corrupted in any block.
Try to use a normal memory, not that with enhanced features for gaming  usage.

The memory that Cisco use don't have nothing special. Only the stamp and the price.

Yes - We have used Curvature branded (third party) ram in ASR's (The 1001s)....havent had an issue with it.

cisco ASR1001 (1RU) processor with 6854860K/6147K bytes of memory.
16777216K bytes of physical memory.

Hi List,

Has anyone used compatible or generic memory in ASR1000 devices? The cost of the Cisco memory is halting our growth plans. We certainly don't like non-genuine but the cost is making us review our standards.
