Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some Input Error
Troubleshooting. This mostly pertains to XFPs.
I am using a mix of LR, SR and ER XFPs on my routers. I notice the Input
Errors increment every now and again throughout the day. It isn't
excessive but mostly like ones and twosies type thing. I notice this more
on my PE routers' interface that connects to my P routers.
There are 0 Runts 0 Giants 0 Throttles 0 Parity 0 CRC 0 Frame 0 Overrun 0
Ignored 0 Abort just some regular old Input Errors. The light levels
measured on each end of the devices are well within the Optic Threshold. I
don't notice any packet loss from end to end over the the direct span.
Below is an example of a show controller stats on one of the XFPs that is
utilizing SR:

All of my physical interface MTUs are set for 9114. The MIB Giants
increment but the Input Errors do not increment with them.
