Also great suggestions, but to no avail. 0 packets input on either side. :(
I might be stuck with having to reboot one or both of these devices if the SFP re-insertion doesn't resolve it.

Try enabling LLDP or CDP and see if you can see anything.

one side might be sending ok, but not receiving anything.
