[cisco-voip] Hunt Groups/List issue

Sean,
What version are you running?
I think that you are hitting one big limitation of 4.0, and its bothering
me too: in my understanding, with that software version, there is no easy
way out of the HL. If you define a third line group (1st being the
reception, and 2nd being the tellers), it has to contain directory numbers,
and nothing else (CTI Route Point for instance cannot be selected). So one
way would be to dedicate a phone, assign it the branchs extension and
attach to it the branchs mailbox. But you are using a phone just for that
purpose.
I think I also remember that with 4.1, Cisco has added a feature for when
hunting fails, but I dont remember exactly how it works.
Maybe you could use an unassign DN (add it to a phone, then Remove from
device) that you would CFA to VM?
Sorry for not being more precise than that. If you find a solution, please
let me know, because Im facing the same problem for some customers.
Vincent

Subject: [cisco-voip] Hunt Groups/List issue
I have a TAC case open about this but it sounds like I'm going to be told
that it can't be done.
We have a situation where we want a hunt list for customer service in the
bank. We want it to ring the receptionist first, then broadcast to all of
the phones at the teller stations. So, it would ring 1 line group which
contains extension 1000. If that is busy or doesn't answer, then ring the
second line group (1001, 1002, 1003, and 1004). If they don't answer, then
I want it to go to the branch's voicemail box. That last part is what I
can't do. There doesn't seem to be any way to have it go to a specific
voicemail box after exhausting the other phones.
Using attendant console really isn't an option because we would need so many
of them when we go with other branches.
Using CFB and CFA wouldn't work very well because I want it to broadcast to
the second group not jump from phone to phone. I currently have it setup so
the receptionist phone has CFB and CFNA to another DN. That DN is a second
line on the phones in the second group so they all ring. That DN is set to
CFB and CFNA to voicemail. This won't work much longer because we're
replacing the phones in the second group with 7912 phones (they are 7940's
right now). When I replace them, they'll only have 1 line. I could put the
same number on all of the phones but I really want to get away from a shared
line like that because of confusion with putting calls on hold, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas?
