Wes,

Would this be a CCM only port, or would IPCCE also be supported?

This is not currently possible because of the incremental updates performed
by ES's, SR's, and even the maintenance releases. The underlying database
for a 3.3(3) backup is very different from the underlying database for a
3.3(4) system.

Thus, by allowing incremental updates for new features, we cannot allow the
simple 1 step restore.

Keep an ear out for a possible linux port of CCM that may include an
active/backup partition setup that allows immediate recovery.

/Wes

Any future plans to change the backup options for Call Manager to provide a
single of couple step process instead of manual restore of OS, CCM then CCM
Backup utility restore?

Keep in mind that if it's a cluster SQL replication and DCD
replication will be broken after a ghost restore. ghost backup/restore is
not really supported by Cisco, but it has worked well in the field.

One of the engineers here has tried to recover from a backup, and
has been unsuccessful to this day. He has tried 3 times and the
configuration has never come up the same. I've never tried it myself, and
am somewhat hesitant to try after hearing this. I would go with the Ghost
image like Wes reccomended.

Has anyone tried using the Windows 2000 Backup utility on Call
Manager. I am planning a Call Manager upgrade and I am looking for a faster
"recover" method if the upgrade fails. The environment is a single
CallManager MCS-7825 with out a RAID drive to pull before the upgrade.
