Sounds like you need another IP address for your Router. Or you would
need to put the ATA behind your firewall.

Are you getting link lights on the ata and the router?

Subject: [cisco-voip] ATA 188 PC Port

The ATA 188 has 2 ethernet ports. One is the uplink and the other is to
be
connected to a PC or other ethernet capable device.

The uplink port I connected to a cable modem. It works fine.
I want to share this internet connection with a LAN that I have at home.
So
I want to use the other ethernet port in the ATA to connect to a small
router which is the gateway of my LAN.
In this scenario, the ATA would have a public IP and my LAN would share
this
same internet connection.
I couldn't make it work. Does anybody know if this is possible ?

Thanks
Andrew
