We're currently running 3.3.4sr2 for a few months with no problems.
>From what I gather with respect to whether or not to upgrade to maintenance releases, if there is a bug/problem with a version you are using now which is fixed in a more recent version, that will likely be the solution the TAC gives you, i.e. upgrade.
As such, we have postponed our 4.1(2) upgrade until we can get our hands on 4.1(3). Not only does it have a few new features that we could really use, we've been told that if there are any new bugs which come up in 4.1(2) that are solved in 4.1(3) - that will be the recommended solution, i.e. upgrade to 4.1(3). If the bug appears in both releases, then it will be fixed in both releases, but I'm guessing they'll concentrate on 4.1(3) and get the bug fixed there first. From what I gather, service releases might be reserved for the most current release as well.
It's definately not an easy thing to do - decided on which way to upgrade. One of the things to do is check the bug toolkit to see if the release has any issues you might run into.

Before I upgraded to 4.1.2sr1 I was running 3.3.4sr2 and I didn't have
any problems. Seemed stable to me.

Hi,
Does anyone know if 3.3(3)sr4a is going to be last SR
for 3.3(3)? Last I knew 3.3(3) was up to es72.
Just trying to get general feeling of what folks think
is a good stable 3.3.x release to be on these days for
people not looking to move to 4.x yet.
Awhile back TAC had told me to stick with 3.3(3)sr4a
and not to use 3.3(4) yet but now 3.3(4) is up to sr2
and seems much better then 3.3(4) flat. Then there is
3.3(5).
