Depends on your carrier and trunk type. Many carriers will allow you to
send whatever digits you wanted for calling party (caller ID or ANI) for an
outbound call on PRI or BRI. Some restrict you to sending only those
numbers that are associated with your trunk.
No U.S. carriers I'm aware of support customer provided calling party name
fields however. You can send them on something like a PRI, but they will
almost surely be ignored. Many carriers now provision a static name (i.e.
"Company X") that those with Caller ID will see when establishing a customer
trunk these days.
