When you go into BAT and choose Configure->Phones are you then
selecting "Update Phones" or "Update Lines"?

I have not used BAT in the past but It looks like I should. I’m
going through the BAT tool and it shows (CM4.1) I can change the hold

both the device and line or only the device?

I agree with you regarding the device pools, but why wouldn't you use
BAT to modify phone MRGLs?

I'm going through the exact same thing. Got about 300 devices to set
right. There are a lot of things you shouldn't set on the Device/
Line. Check out the Device Pool settings and pretty much anything in
there, don't put on the Device/Line. It'll make it way easier to
make changes down the road.

Might want to check on something else while you're doing this. (I
ran into the same problem). On each phone, check to see if they've
got a second line configured with a slightly altered extension. For
example, extension 8983 for Line 1 and 9983 for Line 2. A lot of
times, the vendors place a second line on every phone and then have
the CallForwardBusy roll to that. What you should do is just make
sure that Maximum Number of calls is set (I use 4) and the Busy
trigger is set (I use 2). The 8983/9983 is an older way of doing the
same thing. It chews up extensions (probably uses a seperate
partition too) and can interfere with CallBack features. Just
something I've run into a lot with vendors.

Good luck fixing the mess! ;)

argh... the vendor already configured it on each of the lines in each
phone... sigh...

Well, I'll add it to the Device pools... that way, I can slowly
remove from each line... <muttering comments about the vendor..>

Ideally, they aren't configured on each device or line. The best
place to configure them is in the Device Pool. Configure them there,
then leave them blank in each phone. A change to the Device Pool
will change all of them. However, if there is already something in
the device/line, it will override the Device Pool settings. That's
why they should all be left blank unless they are an exception.

Hope that helps.

hi --

for those who may be interested, I've now succeeded in configuring a
MOH audio source on CCM 4.0

If you are like me, your servers do not have audio cards in them--

Get a Griffin "iMic" USB audio adapter

http://www.cdwg.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=422596

CDW Part:

422596

Mfg. Part:

2020-IMIC

Mine just plugged right into the CM - no drivers needed.

I did have to reboot the CCM to get it to work as an audio device--

After doing that,

In CCMAdmin -- Service >> Media Resources >> MOH Audio Source

Option 51 - Fixed Audio Source

All you have to do is add the MOH Audio Source Device -- which for
the Griffin, is "USB Audio Source"

Update, Reset MOH Servers

Now --- as to the question I have....

What is the best way to 'group' change all extensions to using the 51
Fixed Audio source instead of, say '2 - All In the Mind'

I don't _really_ want to try using BAT or something--- there has to
be a way to select a whole group of phones and make this one change
on all of them at once...

anyone?
