[cisco-voip] IOS MGCP question

Hi folks,

I'm pretty new to setting up gateways with callmanager, up until now
all i've had the chance to mess with has been 6608 cards.. have a
question about some older hardware if anyone has any ideas:

I have 2 clusters configured in the lab, one is "WVU", the other is
"Potomac State". WVU has a 2611XM router with a NM-HDV/1MFT-T1 VWIC,
configured as a MGCP gateway and setup for PRI. everything looks good
on it from what I can tell. register on CCM, PRI Backhaul connection
is up, it sees the mgcp enpoints, etc etc.

"Potomac State" has a VG200 with a NM-HDV/1MFT-T1 VWIC also. i'm
running IOS 12.2(16a) on it right now. have the gateway T1 interfaces
connected with a T1 crossover cable, have a green CD light and the sho
isdn command indicates that the d-channels are up.

"Potomac State" CCM shows the VG200 as registered, and sho ccm-manager
confirms that. but, IOS will not take the command "isdn bind-l3
ccm-manager" on the serial interface.. which is what the documentation
tells me to do to get the PRI backhaul to callmanager working. also I
see errors in trace files saying something about tcp connection not
open, which is making me think the PRI backhaul isnt working. I see
minimal messages when i turn on debug mgcp packets, one or two intial
messages and then the vgw just keeps updating CCM with "nothing is
happening" messages, but nothing else, no messages from CCM back to
the gateway other than "200 OK" type messages. Trying to call out from
Potomac State to WVU using a route pattern pointed at the gateway just
gets me reorder, nothing even seems to show up on the VG200 debug.

Any ideas? neither "isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager" nor "ccm-manager config"
seem to work on this VG200 no matter which IOS i put on it, I also
tried the latest IOS but I couldnt even get the mgcp endpoints to come
up with that version. probably something very obvious that im missing
here.

Happy Holidays,
