[cisco-voip] IP to IP Phone echo w/7960 and 7910s

Hi,

Have a few users reporting IP phone to IP Phone echo
when talking to users with 7910 model phones.
7940/7960 on 7.1(2) firmware and 7910 on 5.0(6). This
problem has been there on 7940/7960 with 5.x and 6.x
firmware also. 

7910s are 10meg, half duplex. The switchport is seeing
collisions (normal in half duplex) and deferred
packets. it is just the phone and no PC so wondering
where the deferred packets are coming from.

Could any of the above be contributing to the echo
they are hearing on 7960 when talking to a 7910 user?
The 7960  user hears there own voice back.
