Brian-
It is in the part number range but just outside the Serial number range.

I went ahead and filled in the upgrade form. Any idea how long it will
take for Cisco to get back to me?
Thanks
Scott

It isn't on this list of bad serial numbers, per chance?

Subject: [cisco-voip] Ethernet Disconnected
I'm getting an error on my 7960 when I plug it into my 3560
inline power switch. The error is "Ethernet Disconnected". I've
checked the port and it's up and the phone starts to configure vlan then
goes to "Ethernet Disconnected". NO Power brick involved.
I'm running CM 4.1.3 and firmware is P00307010200.
Any ideas? I have already deleted it in CM so it can auto reg.
The phone has been on the network before.
Any help is appreciated greatly
Scott
