I would tread lightly there. You can not be guarenteed that those area codes won't be assigned. There's a column in the database that stipulates weather a code is 'assignable' - even though some of them say No, that doesn't mean they aren't going to be used for system use of sometype.
What exactly are you trying to do? How many numbers do you need? There are numbers in the 555 exchange that are reserved for ficticious use, so perhaps your area code + 555 + fictious subscriber number would do?

I am working on an install where 10 digit dialing is being utilized. I
would like to use an unused area code for my NON-DID phones. I want to
obviously be careful to not choose an area code that will eventually be
used. In looking at the NANP database any numbers like 666, 555, 777, etc
are not in use and are classified as "easily distinguisable". Anway, just
curious if anyone sees an issue with me using area code 777 for my non-did
phones.
