[cisco-voip] Upgrade CCM from 3.3(4)

not yet, but soon.

i'm working on a presentation for a september and december user group meeting, so i may post what i have to those who are interested.

one of the things you have to watch out for is 'undocumented' enhancements. for example, new service parameters that will change the way your system works.

also, it's important to test things in a test environment and go through any internal documentation to see if anything has changed.

i also have a 'gotcha' file which i keep notes in since my memory is not the way it used to be (or ever was). here i keep things that i just run across that wouldn't be documented anywhere else. for example, in 4.1.3 they have the annunciator. we use route patterns to block certain things. the route pattern by default when blocked has an announciator msg - we don't want that so i have to change all those patterns to 'no reason' or something like that.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Upgrade CCM from 3.3(4)

Has anyone upgraded from CCM 3.3(4) straight to 4.1(3)?

If so, would you mind sharing any tips or nuances that we should be watching for?

We will also be upgrading CRS 3.1.3 to 3.5.3. All the voice servers are on workgroups and still DC Directory.

The CRS Matrix shows a supported DC Version of 2.5 but 4.1(3) uses DC Version 4.0. Will that cause issues?

The support documents states that the upgrade is only support from 3.3(5), but a TAC engineer recently said that it would work fine. He said they only put in the upgrade document that the upgrade was validated on the last mainline revision of the previous build and any current mainline builds.
